Sunshine makes its way back home again in Indiana today through Sunday. I’m still waving a green flag for the weather weekend, and humidity shouldn’t be a factor again until after the checkered flag flies. The line of mostly sunny days in my forecast is as long as the line will be for the Jim Nabors meet and greet at IMS today.
Carb Day Temps:
9am: 62
12pm: 69
3pm: 73
6pm: 71
High pressure over Wisconsin on today’s weather map will drift across Lake Michigan while the Parade is going on tomorrow. The sky will be again be mostly sunny, with a few more degrees on the forecast high. As the high shifts to the east Sunday – we’ll add on a few more to the temperature, putting the Race Day high just above 80. Let me put on my Donald Davidson hat and note that the hottest Race Day on record is 92, from 1937. We almost wiped that out two years ago, with 91 for a high.
The Memorial Day forecast reflects the high pressure ridge (at the surface and aloft) breaking down, and allowing a chance of scattered showers and storms by afternoon and evening. It will be hot and humid, and the storm chance will continue Tuesday and Wednesday.
