How about 80? Some places could get there today, as the warmest weekend in 6 months finishes strong! Highs today should run from around 77-80 throughout central Indiana. Biggest difference today? More clouds, and rain this evening, with thunder possible.
A frontal system is stalled to our northwest. It’s possible a few showers or storms could make it into Lafayette or South Bend this afternoon, but most of the state will stay dry. And windy, with gusts to 35 mph.
Temperatures today will be similar to yesterday’s highs:
78 Indy, Bloomington, Shelbyville
77 Lafayette, Terre Haute, Ft. Wayne
76 Muncie, South Bend
75 Richmond
Temperatures Monday will NOT be similar. Sorry. That aforementioned front plows through sometime right after morning drive, and temps will dive from around 60 to the mid 40s by afternoon drive time.
Total rainfall from this system could – once again – approach an inch. We don’t need that right now. Although thunder is possible tonight and Monday morning, no severe weather is expected.
The rain should pause for awhile midday Monday, then return with a secondary wave of low pressure Monday evening. The rain will mix with snow late evening and overnight, wrapping up quickly early Tuesday. Nothing beyond a brief dusting is expected, but your drive to work Tuesday morning will be a lot different from the cruising you’ve done this weekend.
