March 6, 1961 – A tornado in Kokomo IN picked up a mobile home and hurled it into a 2 story house.
March 6, 1956 – A tornado produced F4 damage across the northwest side of Marion, Indiana around 10pm. Nearly 400 homes were damaged and 45 were completely destroyed. Several schools were badly damaged. One woman was killed and 31 were hurt. The tornado did $1.5 million in damage along its three and a half mile long path and 45 yard width. A smaller tornado hit Cass County Indiana near Galveston and killed a woman when her home was destroyed.
March 6, 1900 – A Chinook wind blowing down the slopes of the Rockies through Havre MT raised the temperature 31 degrees in just three minutes.
March 6, 1954 – Florida received its greatest modern-day snowfall of record, with 4.0 inches at the Milton Experimental Station. Pensacola FL equaled their 24-hour record with 2.1 inches of snow.
