Snow is still there in the seven day forecast, but it’s only making cameo appearances. Today will be brighter and milder than yesterday. The only big storms are in the country’s corners: Southeast and Pacific Northwest.
Back home again in Indiana, high temps will vary from the mid-30s in Lafayette, Kokomo and Muncie to around 40 in Indy, Richmond and Terre Haute. Expect the low to mid 40s in Columbus and Bloomington. Morning clouds will give way to afternoon sunshine, and the weather today and tomorrow will be dry. The work week finishes fine tomorrow, with sunshine and (brace yourself) above average temperatures. The last time Indy was above average was 12 days ago.
I don’t see a storm until Saturday, when a weak cold front’s passage will be followed by scattered showers. If the showers start early enough they could be mixed in with a few flakes north of Indy, but nothing to shovel. Sunday looks sweet, with average highs and generous sunshine. Monday’s even warmer. The southern half of the state should top 60 degrees. Rain is coming Tuesday night and Wednesday, and again snow could make an appearance once things get going Tuesday night.
The pattern so far this year is a maximum of five days above average, and I’m afraid that’s unlikely to change this month. We’ll be back to the 40s Wednesday, at least for a day. The official 6-10 and 8-14 day forecasts are both below average with respect to temperatures, so my best advice is to make the most of every temperature spike!
