Does that picture make you horny?
“If you’re just joining us” as we used to say in Broadcasting: I’m in Alaska taping segments for Pet Pals TV Iditarod coverage. I don’t have the mental or physical bandwidth to handle a #snomg threat as I normally do, so paulpoteet.com is set to bring you all the National Weather Service information. Which is looking better, right? I mean: better=less snow than originally forecast. Go there right now for the latest. My Huge Radar is also running via remote control.
I was in the middle of the Iditarod starting ceremonies that you would typically see on TV yesterday, and then we went to Aleyeska Ski Resort in the afternoon. Best meal so far: Snow City Cafe for breakfast, in case you’re ever here. I posted on Facebook a pic of a guy from Noblesville who spotted me here – Patty and I have run into a couple of viewers/listeners. Wacky.
I’m about to get on a bus to the Iditarod “real” starting point, in Willow. (Anchorage is ceremonial.) I’ve seen snow on the ground yet but I’ve yet to see snow actually fall. (I’m trying not to rub it in.) We’ll end up later today in a little town called Tawkeetna. There’s a small plane ride Tuesday even farther north to “Rainy Pass,” another stop on the Iditarod trail. I’ll be back – Lord Willing – in Indy sometime Wednesday morning, IIRC. Back on radio and video Thursday.
We’re having a blast. Stay safe during your #snomg.
