February 26, 1987 – Heavy snow fell in the southwest. There was 62 inches at Purgatory Colorado (well named for the date.) Lander Wyoming received four inches in one hour. In Fairplay Colorado there was reported 43 inches of snow, with drifts ten feet high.
February 26, 1910 – Over 129 inches of snow fell at Laconia, Washington, in the middle of a storm that pounded the area from February 24 through February 26. A deadly avalanche followed on March 1.
