The longest streak of above average days we’ve had this year was 5 days in January that ended on the 15th. Today’s the 5th consecutive day of above average temperatures. Guess what?
Let’s put off the bad news and make the most of today. SRSLY, because this is as good as it gets for some time. That’s a big spread in highs from north to south, but all should see temps at least a little above average. Lafayette reaches the mid 40s, and Muncie gets to the mid and upper 40s. Indy and Richmond reach 50, and it will get to the mid 50s in Terre Haute, Bloomington, and Columbus. The blue sky of the morning will be dimmed by thickening clouds in the afternoon.
A cold front will trudge toward central Indiana. Behind the front, precipitation chances. There is a slight chance by mid afternoon in Lafayette and Kokomo. Those would be rain showers. Chances of snow will spread into central Indiana this evening and overnight. It appears the best chance for an inch or two of accumulation would be right along U.S. 24 in northern Indiana. Most of central Indiana has a shot at an inch by Sunday morning. And you’d just gotten used to seeing your driveway!
Tomorrow’s much cooler, and we go back below average. The cold air deepens through the week. I still don’t see any heavy snow, but there could be some accumulation Tuesday, mainly north of Indy, and perhaps in the evening south of Indy.
MICHIANA:
My 953MNC listeners will also see pm clouds, but only about 34 for the high, with a slight snow chance (mainly south of SBN) pm/evening.
INDY ALMANAC:
The average high today is 43 and the average low is 26. Records are 70 and -9. The sun rises at 7:28 and sets at 6:29.
PAUL’S PREVIOUS PREDICTION:
