A big day ahead – the warmest temps in central Indiana since the first day of this long, long short month.
We’ll be above freezing today, although we still won’t be above average. That’s next week.
Question from @J0shuaW1lliams on Twitter: “How many days have been above freezing this year?” By my count, today will be only the 17th day of the year warmer than 32 in #indy.
Let me answer another question from several folks early today: “What IS that light in the sky?” That was Venus, which peaks in brightness this week.
The sun hits the dimmer switch today as low pressure moves in from the Dakotas into the northern Great Lakes by early evening. You’ll notice some mid and high level clouds, especially around Lafayette and Kokomo.
A little freezing drizzle is possible overnight and light snow will follow Friday. Low pressure will track mainly to the south. That means the swatch of 1-2 inch snow should be confined to the south of Indy. Around an inch is likely along the I-70 corridor, and less than an inch is likely from Lafayette through Kokomo and Muncie.
Snow should end by Friday evening but it rears its ugly head again Saturday afternoon and evening. An inch or two of snow is likely through most of central Indiana.
Rain is likely Monday, with 50s and 60s (I’ll pause while you blink) possible by the end of the week.
