Clouds will crack this morning, but there’s no break in the overall weather pattern of cold/snow/rinse/repeat. A few flurries and snow showers overnight may present you with some freshly slippery spots for the morning drive, but there aren’t any major storms on the horizon through the weekend.
Temperatures get the headlines today, as another Arctic high sags southward. Highs will only hit the single digits around Lafayette and Kokomo, where a Wind Chill Advisory is in place until Noon.
An advisory may be issued for a larger area tonight, with lows headed under zero over all of central Indiana. The wind won’t be that strong, but with minimums hitting -2 to -7, it wouldn’t take much to trigger such an advisory.
I don’t foresee advisories this weekend, but I do see snow. (“I see snow people!”) There are chances after midnight Friday night into Saturday morning, and again on Sunday. Both chances have the potential to produce an inch or two over central Indiana.
All eyes are on a storm to the south early next week. That brings a chance of accumulating snow Tuesday, but (for the moment) it doesn’t look like a heavy snow event.
This week’s 6-9 inches is enough to make this the 7th snowiest snow season on record in Indy. P.S. The snow season isn’t finished.
