Storm’s coming Tuesday – had you heard? The chart’s got the early word on what might happen in Indianapolis.
As far as today: temps continue to rise into Central Indiana, but snow will continue in the northern quarter of the state. My 95-3 MNC listeners are under a Winter Storm Warning until 10pm. Up to 7 inches of snow (possibly mixed with sleet) will accumulate in South Bend, and up to 10 inches in The Region.
In central Indiana rain will change back to freezing rain – and then snow – late tonight. Up to an inch could accumulate as the system exits.
Sunday and Monday will be dry and cold. The next storm slides in Tuesday with snow, possibly mixed with sleet and freezing rain. The chance for that mix is higher south of I-70, and lower to the north. The amount of sleet and freezing rain will have an impact on final totals. At this time the most likely outcome for the Indy area northward is 4-8 inches from Tuesday into Wednesday morning. The totals south of the Indy Metro area would be 3-6 inches. One way or another, plan on extra time when you’re out Tuesday and Wednesday. And get ready for some more snow by Friday.
Oh yeah – did the month change? Sure looks the same around here.
