Indiana takes the Polar Plunge again early Monday morning but before that happens: two rounds of snow and a few hours above freezing.
The gusty wind will finally relax after sunset, but until then more blowing and drifting will occur in rural areas. The temperature will sink quickly, to single digits by Sunday morning.
Snow should return to the most of central Indiana between about 5 and 11 am Sunday, just ahead of a push of milder air that will put us into the mid 30s during the afternoon. Another round of snow will form just ahead of the Arctic cold front that arrives Sunday evening. The two separate snow events should combine for another 1-3 inches of snow. Areas south of Interstate 70 are unlikely to see more than an inch. The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for that part of the state along and north of I-70. This Advisory includes Indy, and runs from 4am Sunday through 7am Monday for snow and blowing snow.
A Wind Chill Watch in in place for all of central Indiana for late Sunday night through Wednesday morning. Chills Monday night and Tuesday night will range from 20 to 40 below.
There is yet another chance of snow Thursday, with at least some light accumulation. There is a chance of snow Friday night. Rain and/or snow may fall Saturday.
