UPDATE:
Winds increased, indeed – gusting to 50 mph along with a thin, intense squall line of snow that caused brief whiteout conditions and put down a fast half-inch to inch of snow in some spots.
(EARLIER:)
A cold front this afternoon is helping to stir up some snow showers. Winds will increase behind the front tonight, as shown on the chart. A fresh shot of Arctic air combines with those winds to give us chills down to -25 overnight and Thursday morning. The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Chill Advisory from 1am until Noon.
In the Richmond area the Advisory starts at 9pm tonight. In Bloomington and Columbus it starts at 4am tomorrow.
No snow showers tomorrow as high pressure takes over for a day, leading to a mostly clear Friday morning, and even colder temperatures.
Two snow-making systems this watch this weekend. The first will bring 1-3 inches of Central Indiana snow from late night Friday into Saturday morning. The second will bring another similar accumulation starting in the midday hours Sunday.
