Special note for my 95-3 MNC listeners: A lake effect snow watch has been issued for Berrien, La Porte, Starke, and St. Joseph (IN) counties from 7pm Monday to 7 pm Tuesday. Total snowfall of 1 to 2 feet is expected within the watch area. Snowfall rates of 1 to 3 inches per hour will reduce visibilities to near zero. These intense snowfall rates coupled with blowing and drifting will make travel nearly impossible along interstates 80, 90, and 94. Lake effect snow bands can be very intense but very narrow and impact local areas. Roads can go from being dry to snow covered, slick and hazardous within a mile or two.
