Like yesterday? You’ll love today. Sunshine is the star, and highs should range from 43-46 all over Central Indiana. Wind chills will rise from the mid 20s in the morning to the upper 30s and around 40 this afternoon. Today will be the warmest day since the water works of last weekend. Winds will be from the southwest today, moving around a broad area of high pressure in the southeast part of the country. Our Sunday weather visitors are already just offstage on the national weather map today. Low pressure is organizing in the Gulf Of Mexico, and an Arctic cold front will approach the Canadian/US border today. Not a problem, though, for today and tomorrow. Enjoy it while you can. You can catch up on seeing the lights Downtown or at the Zoo, or maybe just take your lights down! You won’t want to be on the ladder next week. Sunday starts with a chance of rain showers, courtesy of that low pressure system moving from the Gulf Coast to New England by late Sunday night. We’ll just get grazed by that storm system, with a slight shower chance from Indy and to the east and southeast – including Muncie and Richmond. That low will pull away by Sunday afternoon, just as the Arctic front arrives from the northwest. Snow showers will be around all over in Indiana in the afternoon and evening. Little or no accumulation is expected in central Indiana, with the best chance of accumulation in the northern quarter of the state. Temps sink to the teens by late Sunday night. All of next week will be below freezing. Timing’s everything, and unfortunately there are chances of snow showers New Years Eve and New Years Day. We may see another round of snow Wednesday evening through Thursday, perhaps with light accumulation. INDY ALMANAC: The average high today is 36 and the average low is 22. Records are 68 and -7.
