The coldest air in just under 8 months is centered over the state. Temps tumbled into the teens as promised this morning. It hasn’t been in the teens in indy since march 21. LOW TEMPS THIS MORNING 16 Lafayette 18 Bloomington 19 Indianapolis 19 Terre Haute 19 Kokomo 20 Muncie The chill is the thing this time of year, and it won’t get above freezing today. In fact, it’s unlikely to get out of the teens this morning. You’re NOT fooling us, Mother Nature. We know the average high even in the middle of November is still in the middle of the 50s. The last time we were above average was last Saturday. And the next time? Saturday again, as we get warmer this weekend. The core of the coldest air moves to the east of us tomorrow, and temps will jump up to 10 degrees milder in the afternoon. The giant Arctic High pressure system covers essentially the entire nation east of the Rockies today, but it will make the Atlantic Coast by Friday. It will keep the rest of the work week dry. Things change this weekend. Brisk winds Saturday will bring back the 50s, and rain chances in the afternoon and evening. The warmer flow rolls through Sunday as highs hit the 60s. Showers, and possibly thunderstorms will line up in front of a cold front that looks to move through sometime between Sunday night and Monday morning. Temps will crash again behind the front Monday afternoon and a few flurries and snow showers are possible Tuesday. Fasten your Fall seat belts.
