The slowly simmering temperatures continue to cook today, with about a one degree increase from yesterday. Patchy fog is possible again this morning. And that sunshine! If you’ve missed soaking it up this work week you’ve got another shot Saturday. It’ll be a warm tailgate for Purdue or Ball State fans, with a mostly sunny sky. Clouds may start to thicken by late Saturday afternoon in advance of our much-advertised Sunday cold front. Rain chances will be after midnight Saturday night, and persist through at least Sunday morning. The rain may last past lunchtime southeast of Indy. Current projections put up to a half-inch of precipitation across central Indiana from around Muncie through Indianapolis through Bloomington. Other spots like Lafayette and Richmond could see up to a quarter of an inch. Last week we got a couple inches at the end of the week and into early Saturday. That made a big difference in the latest Drought Monitor that was released yesterday. There was just under a ten percent drop in the amount of the state under a drought. That status is now confine to Lake, Newton, Benton, and Warren counties in northwest Indiana. INDY ALMANAC: The average high today is 73 and the average low is 51. Records are 93 and 35.
