Stop me if you’ve heard this before – it’s going to be nice today. Not that we don’t have some changes coming. The humidity will increase a bit tonight, and temps will climb a bit higher than yesterday. The high temperature will be about 5-7 degrees above average. The highest Indy temperature last year was 88 degrees. We should go above that at some point before the middle of next week. There won’t be as much rain this weekend as we had last weekend from scattered storms, but there is a chance. That chance will come with a cold front dropping southward late tonight into Sunday. There will be little moisture available at the surface and there’s not much upper level support. If you don’t get rain Sunday you are unlikely to get any until another cold front moves through Wednesday. On the other side of that front will be a return to temps a little below normal by Friday. That may not last–the long range trend from the Climate Prediction Center indicates higher than average temperatures from September 14-20th, and precipitation below average for all of Indiana.
