An awesome weather weekend, unless you’re trying to keep your flowers or your lawn happy. There is no rain chance in the seven day forecast. Meteorologists consider the first of June to be the start of the summer weather season, and since June 1st only 7.80″ of rain has fallen at Indianapolis International Airport. That’s 3.33″ below normal. It’s still much better than last year, though, when we only had 5.96″ in that time frame.
The humidity started shrinking yesterday afternoon, and it will be comfortable today and tomorrow. An upper ridge oozes into the area from the Plains by Monday, spelling the start of an extended period of hot and humid weather that I think could last through Labor Day. The longest streak of 90 degree weather so far this summer has been just four days. Temperatures haven’t even hit 90 yet this month, but that’s about to change.
If you out at Greek Fest today, or doing Symphony On The Prairie tonight or the Keith Urban show tonight, you shouldn’t notice much of a breeze. The wind will shift from east to southeast today, at about 5 mph. See you on Trail!
