Things are changing. (The three safest words for Indiana’s Weatherman to type.) The morning minimum in Muncie was in the 50s for three days, but today it got no lower than 63. Same story in Lafayette, where the low this morning was 66. Indy’s morning low was only 71, and that will the story for the next week. Muggy early mornings in the 70s and after hot, humid afternoon highs in the upper 80s to around 90. Don’t complain too loudly. The July temp averages so far are still below normal, and June was right on the average. The 8-14 day outlook for July 21-27 is now predicting below average temperatures for central Indiana. You’ll see the thunderstorm icon over and over again on the 7 Day chart, but the the chance of any one point seeing a pop-up storm is only about 20 percent through Friday. INDY ALMANAC: The average high today is 85 and the average low 66. Records are 106 and 48. The sun rises at 6:29 and it sets at 9:13. PAUL’S PREVIOUS PREDICTION: Yesterday’s high was 85. My forecast was 83. DETAILED INDIANAPOLIS FORECAST: Today: Mostly to partly sunny. Could be a pop-up shower or storm in the afternoon and early evening. High 88. Tonight: Partly cloudy. Low 72.
