A noticeable, nasty, northerly wind whips up today’s biggest Indiana weather drama. It helps pull temperatures down about 10-15 degrees from yesterday’s pleasant, mostly sunny afternoon. I’ve been asked several times on-line in the last 24 hours: will the Blizzard heading to New York/New England have an effect on Indiana? The answer is: there won’t be an after effect, but we were part of the pre-show. One of the two merging storm systems dragged a cold front through the state which caused Thursday evening rain. The most reported rain last night was .18″ in Muncie. Indianapolis picked up .12″ of rain. Lafayette measured a tenth of an inch. Radar estimates also indicate a little over a tenth of an inch in Richmond. Both Terre Haute and Bloomington reported .14″ of rain. Clouds will be stubborn for awhile Friday morning, but should start cracking from the north and west through the afternoon. You may wait longest for the sun in Richmond. Saturday should be mostly sunny all day long, and clouds starts returning Saturday Night. The best chance for showers Sunday will be in the afternoon and evening. There could be rain and/or snow next Wednesday, which (so far) looks to be the biggest weather deal of the next work week. INDY ALMANAC: The average high today is 38 and the average low is 22. Records are 68 and -14. Sunrise time is 7:46 and the sun sets at 6:14. PAUL’S PREVIOUS PREDICTION: Yesterday’s high was 53. The forecast was 46. Biggest miss in awhile!
