Election Day begins clear, (relatively) calm, and cold again…but not as cold as yesterday. Monday’s low of 25 degrees at 7:17am was the coldest since March 10th of this year. Of course, it was still ten degrees above the record low. Could be worse.
The last time we were voting for President, temperatures were way above average, in the 70s. NOT the case today. Indiana gets yet another day in the 40s. This will be the fourth day in a row. I hope for a change.
Showers are possible in the western third of the state before the polls close, and throughout Indiana this evening. Clouds and shower chances will hang around through Wednesday morning.
In politics and weather, timing is everything. The best three-day stretch we’ve had in awhile in timed for Friday through most of Sunday.
USA ELECTION DAY:
Dry in the West with the exception of showers moving into the Washington coastal area this afternoon. The Plains will be sunny. Rain with a little snow moves out of Minnesota and Iowa in the morning toward Wisconsin, Illinois, and Indiana later in the day and into the evening.
There will be scattered showers and storms from Georgia to South Carolina over to the northern two-thirds of Florida. That’s associated with a developing area of low pressure moving up to the East Coast tomorrow as a “Nor’Easter.”
INDY ALMANAC:
The average high today is 57 and the average low is 39. Records are 77 and 20. The sunrises at 7:20 and sets at 5:37.
PAUL’S PREVIOUS PREDICTION:
Yesterday’s high was 46. The forecast was 48.
UV INDEX:
2 (Low.)
POLLEN COUNT:
