A Frost Advisory starts the week, but there’s no where to go but up.
The Advisory runs until 9am. Afternoon temperatures will recover nicely, and end up warmer than the weekend. Not quite enough, however, to stop us from having the eleventh consecutive day of below normal temperatures in Indianapolis.
Feeling cold? Drink a pumpkin spice latte. Or chew on this: On July 7th of this year the morning low of 81 was the “highest lowest” temp in Indy since August of 1936. It was 101 by noon! The afternoon high was 105. Feeling better?
Rainfall is possible again after midnight tonight, and there should be a few periods (and maybe some thunder) at any point Tuesday or Tuesday night. That’s from an area of low pressure moving out of the Plains. A cold front tags us from the northwest Wednesday, with a shower/storm chance later in the day. Behind that, another shot of cooler than average air starts Thursday.
Parts of Indiana, especially the southern half, could get another inch-plus of rain Tuesday and Wednesday. The Indy total is 29.21 inches for the year, which is only 2.50 inches behind the average. Friday alone brought another 1.32 to the Airport rain gauge.
