I used to be a station announcer guy for WTTV Channel 4 in the 80’s, and if you’re in your 30’s today you may have warm memories of me exclaiming “now stay tuned for He-Man and The Masters Of The Universe!,” or “starts Friday at a theater near you.’ I also would be heard whenever there was trouble. A “stand by” tape would be plugged in, and I would smoothly say “One moment, please.”
Today’s weather announcement: “We now join Winter, already in progress.” Chills this morning will start in the teens, and there are no above normal temps in the forecast until at least Tuesday. The air temperatures won’t get past the 20’s this weekend, with lows around 12 by Sunday morning. “Sammy Terry” needs a blanket in the coffin!
One thing is still missing from the Winter Show. SNOW. Yesterday’s dusting amounted to .02″ at the Airport, for a seasonal total of 7.1 inches. By this time normally we’d have measured 18.8, and there was 33 inches of the stuff last year by now.
