I was asked several times on Twitter and Facebook Saturday: when will the wind die down? Sorry, but the big breeze is back today. Gusts up to 30 mph will whip your hair back and forth in central Indiana.
It won’t be as sunny today, as yet another clipper moves through the state, but this time it arrives during the daylight hours. A dusting of snow is possible again from Indy northward in the midday and afternoon. Up to an inch could fall in the northeast corner of the state, perhaps as far south as Muncie. Little or no accumulation is likely southwest of Indianapolis. The snow should end by Sunday evening.
Highs across the state will range from around 30 in South Bend to 43 in Evansville, where the sun will shine most of the day.
This will be the last of the chilly days for some time. As warmer air arrives Monday morning it will probably be accompanied by clouds in the morning, but those will thin during the day. Above average temps should last through Saturday, when we play the Weather Wild Card. At this point it looks like low pressure moves right across Indiana that day. The most likely track at this time would yield rain and/or snow. At the very least it might be dreary on The Day Before.
INDY ALMANAC:
Average high today is 36, and the average low is 21. The record high of 66 was set ten years ago today. The record low is -13. Sunrise time is 7:57, and the sunset comes at 5:59.
