Warm and dry weather is expected today as high pressure moves away to the east. Southeast winds will increase to 15 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph this afternoon as a cold front approaches from the west. Highs will warm into the 70s.
Scattered showers and thunderstorms will develop into southwest and western Indiana this evening, spreading across all of central Indiana and the Indy Metro area overnight as the front drops through the region. Lows will drop into the 50s tonight.
The front will stall south of the Ohio River for Sunday and Monday. The best chance of rain Sunday will be in the evening, when it could be heavy across south central Indiana. Areas south of Interstate 70 may receive 1 to 1.5 inches of rainfall, aggravating ongoing flooding along rivers and streams. Rain should end Monday afternoon, then a couple of quiet days with highs only in the 60’s.
