A Winter Storm Watch remains in effect tonight through Wednesday night. The Indy metro area may receive large ice accumulations and big winds over that 48-hour period, with the possibility of trees and utility lines downed.
Here’s a quick excerpt from a report from this morning written by my friend Tom Spalding along with Kevin O’Neal via indystar.com:
“Long duration power outages will be possible for many people in central Indiana,” according to a 4 a.m. weather bulletin from the NWS.
“The major threat is going to be ice,” weather service forecaster Joseph Nield said Sunday. “One-inch ice amounts are not out of the question.”
