9:00 AM…Snowfall is increasing in intensity already across much of central Indiana as the upper level jet is getting stronger and increasing the upper level forcing. Moderate snow bands are developing across much of the south and central portions of the area…as well as one moving into the northwest that may soon impact Lafayette.
9:00 AM…Measured 1.0 inches of snow at NWS Indianapolis.
800AM…3/4 of an inch has fallen so far in Indy, with a 1/2 inch of that coming between 7 & 8am.
A Winter Weather Advisory is in place. The majority of central Indiana will see 1-5 inches of accumulation by late this afternoon. Likely approximate totals:
1-3″ Marion, Kokomo, Lafayette corridor
2-4″ Other areas north of Indy
3-5″ Indy and points southward
Accumulating snow ends by Thursday night, then another shot of cold air. Chills stay around zero much of the day Friday.
