UPDATE: Several snows messed up my management of this, so the deadline is extended through the end of February.
Earlier this month, I asked “What’s My Brand?” The answers didn’t really surprise me, and that’s good. Unlike some old media outlets, I know who I am, and I have a good idea of why you watch, listen, or read me.
I do need help in visually branding me. The use of my site, and the views of my videos have really taken off in the last two months. I appreciate that, and I want to encourage that by making it easy for people to recognize “Paul Poteet content” on whatever screen they see it.
I recently had a cuppa Joe with Shawn Quick-Raflik of Fine Promotions, Inc to talk about how I might use t-shirts, etc to spread said brand. She suggested letting YOU create and vote for potential Paul Poteet brand logos. I think that’s a great idea, and that’s where we are right now.
I need a “main” logo for Paul Poteet Dot Com, and logos for all the shows/sites I’m involved with (and will be involved with eventually.) I want the “Paul Poteet” portion to look the same everywhere. There should probably be some “Indianapolis” or “Indiana” reference (skyline? corn fields?) 🙂 and I think my mug should appear somehow, but beyond that, I’m open. If you’d like a Paul Poteet refresher course, go here.
Here’s what you’d have to design:
- Paul Poteet Dot Com
- Paul Poteet’s Gotta Eat
- Paul Poteet’s Indiana Weekend
- Paul Poteet’s Indiana Almanac
- Paul Poteet’s Funny Indiana
- Paul Poteet’s Worldwide Blog Headquarters
Send your material to contest@paulpoteet.com. If you submit it, you give me the right to use it. I will post your work, a lot of folks will see it, and any links to you or your business you want included. You would get a continuing credit at the the bottom of each where your logo is used.
Please submit artwork in Adobe Illustrator vector format. Convert all text to outlines. If a placed/imported Adobe Photoshop type image is necessary, that original file should be included. The Photoshop file (TIF or JPG) should be at least 300 dpi resolution or higher and the art to size.
People will be able to vote on their favorites, but I (and maybe Mrs. P.) will be the final judge. Interested? Deadline for entries is Wednesday February 10, 2010.

Paul, Just wanted to know if you received my submission. I never got a confirmation back from you and was just wondering…

Yes, Ted. Sorry for the delay.
