A storm system churns to the south of us today, moving outta Texas, along the Gulf Coast, then eventually up the East Coast for a New Years Day Parade of rain and snow.
Indiana’s biggest travel concerns would be this evening and early morning Thursday. And speaking of travel, interstates are often a good way to explain the forecast.
- SOUTH OF I-70: Snow this evening and overnight could mix with rain. Expect less than an inch.
- AROUND I-70: Expect mainly snow, with around an inch possible from Indy northward through the surrounding Metro counties.
- NORTH OF I-70: Up to two inches of snow is possible. Perhaps even locally as high as 3 inches right around Peru.
The precip will taper off quickly by mid morning Thursday. By the time Ryan and Carson drop the ball on TV, Mother Nature will drop the hammer on us. Expect a few flurries and an icy wind behind the Arctic cold front you see on the map coming at us from the West. Happy New Years Eve Eve.
