We’re digging out from the 6th largest snow storm in Indianapolis history. The National Weather Service has reported 12.5 inches since the storm began. This ties for the 6th largest snow total for an Indy storm. It’s been 13 years since we’ve seen something like this! In January 1996 we saw 12.8 inches.
BTW: The “Blizzard Of ’78” put down 15.5 inches of blowing, drifting snow. The all time record is 16.1 inches from February 1910.
Storm Team 6 has widespread reports of 6-12″ snow totals. Ice cut into the snow amounts in southern Indiana. Here’s a list from the weather service.
