So did you see the RCA Dome sinking? I don’t know what I expected, but it was *less* than that from a visual standpoint. There may be some irony in the fact that the Dome’s INflation received no special coverage, if memory serves. Maybe it’s human (or News) nature to cover the tearing down of things more than the building up of things.
It was interesting to see former Mayor Bill Hudnut at the ceremony. If you showed him as he was today next to some 1983 tape you wouldn’t notice any big difference. Usually–if you live in the public eye–file footage is the Enemy. It’s you, only younger.
That’s why I’m glad I stored all those old weather cast tapes in the Dome at 10:29 this morning.
