Watch this space, and RTV6, and keep an ear to my radio stations for updates on what will probably be a looooong late afternoon and evening of sometimes heavy rain and sometimes severe weather. The biggest threat looks to be from around 6 to midnight tonight. Reminder: the latest warnings are here.

Another aspect of the dsicusison is that typical Indian dress-up costumes are often recreations of certain tribes’ high-ceremonial dress, not their everyday dress. In effect, putting on feather headress and other fancy stuff is akin to making a costume out of Catholic vestements not unlike your kid walking around mimicking delivering the Sacraments or reading the Torah. Most of us would talk straight with our kids about how people might be offended at seeing their religions’ vestements worn as costume, right? No different for indigenous people’s sacred duds.
