It was the third coldest NFL game ever in Green Bay Sunday night, but I think Mrs. Poteet is still hot over the final score.  Here’s the silver lining for the Colts/Packers fan I live with:  wouldn’t it be great to have the Patriots stopped one short of a perfect season by a Manning?  I don’t wish the Patriots well, which may bring hate email.  Check out this one from the TV Land:

Dear Sir:
I was very angered this morning to hear Mr. Poteat refer to the weather in New England as Good that what they deserve or something to that effect. My family lives in Mass. My Dad just suffered a heart attack shoveling snow in the last big snow storm. I found his comments childish. I used, and I say USED to like him. I watch you’re news cast everynight, and in my car in the morning on the way to work. NOT anymore. I’m pretty mad abiut the careless comments made by Mr. Poteat and others on you’re staff, when it’s comes to the New England Patriots. What are they a bunch of teenage kids. I’m sure I wasn’t the only person ticked off about what he said. In kidding or not. I thought it was very
insensitive. You just lost a viewer. The guy is a complete jerk!

I think it might be a Lambeau Leap, if you will, to connect banter about wishing a sports rival ill to someone having a heart attack. That viewer could have been in Green Bay tonight and still wouldn’t have chilled out.

    Dear Mr. Poteet,
I want to start off by saying that I love your show in the morning that you do with Brian Free. I like how you talk a little bit instead of doing the weather and nothing else. You make it a little personal by sharing bits and pieces of your life. On that note, I would like to know if you have yet to receive your Christmas gift from your son? Now, lets talk about your hate mail…Whoever wrote this letter to you needs to take an English lesson and learn how to spell and use contraction words correctly. I don’t think this person has the mentality to pass judgement on anyone.

Shelly-thanks for listening on XXC! No, my son still hasn’t ponied up. (Not that I think it’s gonna be a pony.) He’s living “off campus” from us these days, and like many kids his age, he has other pre-occupations. I’m hoping to get it by Lincoln’s Birthday.

Yeah, there are a few errors in the note. If I wasn’t a complete jerk (exclamation point!) I would have just cleaned it up myself. That person probably has Bill Belichick taping my blog anyway by now.

Wow! It is amazing that these people don’t just fall into a hole! It is like he is blaming you for blizzard and his dad’s heart attack. If that is the case, you must be God! Now that I know who you are, I am totally calling you for favors!! LOL

If I were God, that 7 Day Forecast would look a LOT different.
