Indiana’s Weather For Sunday

March 19, 2017

Butler and Purdue are headed to the Sweet 16, but Indianapolis still hasn’t cracked the Big 10. Of snow. Still just 9.7 inches on the season. Last year: 13.3 inches and the average is a cool 25. Nothing likely for awhile at least. Here’s one computer model view of new snow through Friday. (Via WeatherBELL.)

There’s still time. The average date of last measurable snowfall in Indy is March 30. The latest? May 9, 1923. That’ll cut into the beer sales at the Track.

Less is more. Less clouds and wind will make it the most pleasant day central Indiana’s seen in awhile.

Yesterday’s daytime high was 42 in Indy. My forecast was 44.

The average high today is 53 and the average low is 34. Records are 82, from 2012 and 7, from 1923. The sun rises at 7:50am and sets at 7:56pm.

Today: Mostly sunny. High 52.
Tonight: Partly cloudy. Low 39.

Monday: Mix of sun and clouds, with shower and storm chances. High 59.

Monday Night: Shower chances. Low 38.

Tuesday: Mix of clouds and sun. High 53.

Tuesday Night: Partly cloudy. Low 29.
Wednesday: Mostly sunny. High 44.
Wednesday Night: Clouds increase. Low 28.

Thursday Night: Slight shower chances. Low 45.
