MORNING LOWS 6 Ft. Wayne 8 Muncie 12 South Bend 14 Lafayette 15 Indianapolis, Bloomington 17 Terre HauteSun should hang around all morning, with clouds mixing in by afternoon. The New York-based news media is always dramatic with anything that hits…New York. Duh. So the Blizzard hype was to be expected, and IMHO ok…a blizzard has the potential to shut down travel and to actually make you use that bread and milk. The problem is of course – plenty of sub-blizzard events get hyped also, and you end up with hype inflation. But that’s another story. I would argue that now the failure of the Blizzard forecast is also being hyped by the same media. There was as little as 8 inches of snow in NYC, but it was a blizzard for millions who live to the east, keeping residents and recently-re-located Indy TV weathercasters busy. (HI PAM!)

Two feet of snow in MA, and reports of wind gusts in excess of 60 mph – that’s hype-worthy. This Sunday’s impending snow here in central Indiana looks to be a big deal, but keep things in perspective, please. (Although I will allow you to call it “Super Snow,” given the day it falls on.)
