Rain has moved into the state, and snow will follow later today. Kokomo, Marion and Muncie could see up to four inches of snow accumulate this afternoon and evening. Snow may start sticking in those places after about 2pm. Up to three inches could fall in Frankfort, Noblesville and Anderson, where the sticking snow will be an hour or two later. The rest of central Indiana north of I-74 will probably end up with an inch or two. South of I-74…an inch or less, with amounts dropping off quickly. The official Indy total may not reach an inch at the Airport. The limiting factor on snow today will be the change over in temperatures. The morning and midday will feature rain, with the temperature/precipitation change moving in from north to south this afternoon. Most of the snow accumulation will occur this afternoon, and we may not see all snow in the Indy area until 4 or 5pm. Simulated radar, at 1pm. 3pm 5pm 7pm Even though snow may be falling, temps may still be above freezing into the late afternoon right around Indy. Here are 5pm temperatures at the surface. (Computer modeling via weatherbell.com.) Winds this evening and overnight will gust to 30 mph. Temps will tumble, and we will be in the upper teens by Monday morning, with chills in the teens this evening and most of tomorrow. Another weaker wave could mean a dusting of snow late Monday evening and overnight.]]>
