The warmer weekend kept Indy out of the top five, but still…
It was the coldest November since 1976. It ended with the second warmest day of the month. Yesterday’s high of 64 missed the daily record by four degrees. The warmest day featured a high of 66 on November 3.
The November number of 35.9 was 7.7 degrees below average. When you look at the months of this year, November is right behind January and February in terms of being coldest-versus-normal.
There was 2.6 inches of snow for the month. The average in Indy for November is 0.7 inches. For the snow season so far: 2.7 inches, once you add in our Halloween evening snow.
We’re ahead of last season at this point, but that will even out by the the end of the week. We’re not expecting accumulating snow this week, and the first couple of inches of accumulating snow last December fell on the 6th and 7th.
BTW most of the country was well below average, as shown in this chart from weatherbell.com. Echoes of last Winter, with warmer than average temps along the West Coast….and how ’bout that Alaska?
