The frost is a little later than average this year. I know: it’s been a colder than average month, but that is due as much to cold high temps as it is to cold lows. We’ve had plenty of cloudy days that don’t lead to big temperature drops at night. The average first 32 degree day in Indy is October 14. We’ve been as low as 38 so far. That came yesterday morning under a mostly clear sky, and is happening again today, with high pressure overhead.
Clouds will return to the next couple of night times, especially to Indy northward, where a couple of weak waves could mean a few sprinkles overnight tonight into very early Friday morning, and overnight Friday night into early Saturday morning.
Otherwise, things stay nice for the weekend. A dry cold front arriving Saturday means temps will be a little lower Sunday.
A warm front arriving early Monday could mean the biggest high temps in exactly two weeks.
A cold front spells showers and a chance of storms Tuesday.
The early word on Halloween: Looks dry, with high pressure overhead, and afternoon highs around 60, and trick-or-treat temps in the 50s.
