The Indianapolis Airport hit 90 degrees today at 3:56 pm. That’s not usually a big deal in late August, but it’s the first time this season. Prior to today the highest temp had been 88, and we hit that four different times, including last Saturday.
This is the longest wait for 90 degrees since 2004 when there was no 90 degree day. That’s the only year there’s been zero since records began in the late 1800s. The average is 14.6 days a year.
By the way, there’s still time to put a few more on the scoreboard. The latest 90-degree reading ever in the year for Indy occurred on October 8, 2007.
