An upper level low is causing clouds down below today, or at least, from around Indianapolis eastward. So often I-70 is my weather reference point. Today’s it’s U.S. 31. Muncie and Richmond can expect a mostly cloudy day with a few sprinkles even possible in the morning. The Indy Metro counties should get breaks in the clouds as the afternoon wears on. Lafayette and Terre Haute will stay out of the fray, with a partly to mostly sunny forecast.
All these complicating clouds keep the temps will from getting back into the 80s for much of the state. The lndy high hasn’t been in the 80s since Monday. Today was our fifth consecutive day with a low in the 50s. Pretty impressive streak for the middle of July.
Summer makes a brief comeback. As the upper air low pulls away to the east tomorrow everyone will get some sun, and the highs should roll into the low to mid 80s in central Indiana. Humidity will slowly increase.
Monday and Tuesday will be flat-out mostly sunny hot and humid. It could finally get to 90 in Indy on Tuesday. A cold front will approach with showers and storms later Wednesday, but not before heat and humidity hit one more time.
