Compare today’s update to yesterday’s and you’ll find a pattern of procrastination. The shower chance for this afternoon and evening now looks to be more likely from late Thursday evening into Friday morning.
The shower/storm chance Sunday night can now wait until Monday. WAIT. Another dry, above average weekend?! That would be three in a row. And that would mean every weekend in April would be precipitation-free in Indianapolis. And people still write me to complain! Maybe they’re reading ahead to next week.
Showers could begin just after sunset around Lafayette and Terre Haute, and into the Indy metro area by midnight. The most likely time for the rain is overnight, with up to a half inch of precipitation through mid-morning Friday.
Highs today will return to a little above average after our two-day detour. They will shoot up to the 70s this weekend. Awesome atmospherics for the parade of pooches at Mutt Strut and the spokes folks down in Bloomington at the Little 500.
An area of low pressure at the surface gets locked up in a stagnant upper air pattern Monday through Wednesday, and 1-2 inches of rain is possible through the wet stretch.
