Nice to see the sun after yesterday’s latest round of Winter. The heaviest snow this time landed on locations north of Indianapolis. I got several 5-6 reports via social media and email from Tipton and Madison Counties. The Indianapolis Airport total was 2.4 inches. The January total is now 23.3 inches. That is (wait for it) 23 inches more than last January at this point. Here are more totals compiled by the National Weather Service and by some of my correspondents:
6.0 Elwood 6.0 Summitville 5.5 Atlanta 5.5 Tipton 5.2 Anderson 5.0 Muncie 4.5 Cicero 4.5 Lafayette 4.1 West Lafayette 4.0 Frankfort 4.0 Rushville 3.8 New Castle 3.0 Fishers 3.0 Carmel 2.2 NE Indy 2.4 NWS Indy 2.2 NE Indy 1.0 Bloomington
One or two FEET of snow may fall in a narrow Lake Effect band near South Bend Monday night through Tuesday. Around an inch is expect in Central Indiana.
