PP NETWORK:
More clouds today, and winds gusting to 40 mph. Winds could gust to 45 mph in west central Indiana, where a Wind Advisory runs from 11am-9pm in Lafayette, Terre Haute, and Crawfordsville. Rain moves in from the west later this evening. Here are today’s highs:
68 South Bend
69 Muncie/Marion
70 Anderson
69 Lafayette
70 Indianapolis
69 Hendricks County
74 Evansville
Bigger clouds and bigger breezes today, but still some really tall temperatures.
How mild is it? The Indianapolis overnight low was within a degree of the average high for today.
Wind speeds will increase after noon, and gusts of 45 mph are possible in west central Indiana, where a Wind Advisory is in effect from 11am to 9pm. The Advisory includes Lafayette, Terre Haute, Crawfordsville, Terre Haute and Vincennes.
Those winds are driven by the pressure difference between a large “high” to the east, and our weather villain, low pressure to the west. That low is connected to a cold front that will rain down precipitation overnight and knock down temperatures Monday.
When you wake up tomorrow it will still be in the mid 40s, but that should drop to around 40 during the day. Showers will still be around. If the advancing cold air overtakes the departing precipitation we could see some flurries late morning or early afternoon Monday.
Colder than average temperatures will follow all week.
So: Hold on to your hats and ENJOY TODAY! Am I being too subtle?

Twitter follower @alexanderhall has an interesting find related to last night’s terrible explosion on the south side. He notes that Indianapolis weather service radar shows a return in that area just after 11pm, perhaps from smoke and debris.
