Indiana’s Weather For Sunday

September 9, 2012

seven-day-indy-scaled

Fall continues to fall into place. Today’s the second start in the 50s already this month in Indianapolis. Indy was only in the 50s six times in August, and not at all in July.

Fall means football, and there will be a seasonably chilly breeze at Soldier Field today for the Colts/Bears game. Scattered morning showers should give way to some sunshine. The high will be 68, with the wind around 15mph, turning to the North.

There were a few showers overnight from around Logansport, Kokomo, Marion, and Fort Wayne from a weak wave. Another one later Sunday could spark a stray shower north and northeast of Indy.

The rain deficit for Indianapolis is now down to 2.71 for the year. Other deficits:
.80″ South Bend
6.04″ Lafayette
6.13″ Muncie
6.22″ Ft. Wayne
9.25″ Evansville
11.93″ Terre Haute
13.52″ Bloomington

After all the recent rain central Indiana is looking at an extended stretch of dry weather again. The next rain and storm chance is Saturday.

Tomorrow is the statistical peak of the Atlantic hurricane season. Tropical storm force winds are hitting Bermuda today from “Leslie.” There’s little change in Hurricane “Michael,” out in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean.
