Better news for your outdoor plans this evening. It appears enough dry air will be around to hold off widespread steady showers until late night. Make sure you’ve got your smartphone handy and heed any word of warnings, though, as scattered showers and storms are still possible. There are tornado watches in place for much of Illinois.
Rain so far has favored the north half of Indiana, with up to an inch recorded already. Keep in mind the center of the Isaac remnants is just now crossing the Mississippi, with another full day of rain possible Sunday.
Nevertheless, this evening’s window for big time rain is now smaller, so the forecast of total amounts through Monday only goes up to around two inches for most. Higher final totals will be possible to the north.
