Tuesday morning fog is connected to good news. More recent rain. (Combined with a light wind and a clearing sky above the cloud at ground level.)
As promised, yesterday’s makes August the (TA DA!) wettest month of 2012, so far! The .28″ of an inch at the Airport gives us a 4.20″ total for August. The only previous month coming close is March, with 4.14 inches of precip. Don’t get cocky, kid, but the stats have been improving this month. The official Indy year-to-date deficit is now 7.33 inches.
Up in South Bend, almost an inch fell, which means that part of the state has whittle its deficit down to under an inch. Although there was almost a half inch of rain in Evansville yesterday, the year-to-date drought is still over 12 inches.
Central Indiana totals were on the the lighter side this time around. A map is attached that shows the biggest boomers soaked the north and southwest, where it is still needed the most.
The next rain chance is a pretty good one that arrives the second half of Thursday, and stays through the first half of Friday. The weekend weather will be excellent for cutting that green grass.
