I’ve been in the weather racket since the 1980s. (In other words…since the last time we had a Summer close to this.) The one thing I’ve learned: you’ll never please everybody. You might think the best *chance* of rain in months would be welcome, but Lisa on Facebook this morning brings it back to Earth: “As long as it doesn’t rain Saturday at Holiday World.”
LOL. Good luck Lisa, but you MIGHT be outnumbered on this one. I’m hoping Mother Nature delivers rain Friday and then offers Free Refills all weekend.
The precipitation outlook remains the same. (I’ve attached the 5 Day Projection.) Still looks like at least three-quarters of an inch in Central Indiana, with over an inch possible around and just south of Indianapolis. As much as three inches could fall nearer the Ohio River.
The rain chances arrive the same time as Indianapolis water restrictions go into place. Is that all it took? Actually, we’ll need a lot of days like tomorrow to climb out of our dusty hole. The year to date deficit for rain in Indianapolis is now 8.23 inches.
The best chances for rain Friday will be in the afternoon and evening as an upper level waves surfs a stationary front to our south. The chance is about 60 percent Friday, and then 50 percent Saturday and Sunday.
A below average day? If the projection holds, the Indy high tomorrow will struggle to get to 80! Credit clouds. That would be the “lowest high” around here since June 13. In fact, the last time we had a high below 90 was June 26. We need a mini-temperature-vacation. Let’s go to Holliday World!
