It’s not easy to upstage The Thunderbirds, but there was another Air Show in the Indy sky Saturday. And it wasn’t just Indiana. Several states reported spectacular sun rings/halos/etc.
At least one Weather Service Office speculated a connection to Smoke From A Distant Fire – the ongoing Western Wildfires.
Given our recent weather, I’m pulling for the more conventional “ice crystals at just the right height and temperature,” given that this can sometimes indicate rain the next day. There IS a chance in the Sunday PM/Evening forecast.
(My alternate theory is that it was cause by smoke from the DMB show Friday night.)
