I was sitting in my big brown recliner working on some writing Wednesday night when Tweets started coming to me asking if I was the Paul Poteet who wrote the tweet that was just on Keith Olbermann’s MSNBC hour. Talk about something outta Left field. Turns out they were doing a segment on The LeBron James Show on ESPN. The bit is that he’ll take an entire hour of the network’s time to dramatically announce which team he’s gonna play for.
In the course of talking about it on-air with Dave Smiley at WZPL Wednesday morning I ad-libbed a simple little joke regarding that story and Lindsay Lohan.
“Right after LeBron on ESPN tomorrow night: Lindsay Lohan gets an hour long special to announce which prison she’s going to.”
It seemed funny, so I used it somewhere else. Then I tweeted it. (I hate to waste things.) Net result: four seconds of tv time. To me the funniest part of the clip is that someone who has no idea who I am says my name correctly, with a “po,” not a “puh.”
