SUNDAY MORNING UPDATE: The Storm Prediction Center had Indiana under a tornado watch overnight, but warnings stayed to the south of us in Kentucky. It’s not likely we’ll see any further severe threat. Heavier, steadier rain is still possible in the southeast corner of the state Sunday morning. Showers and storms should diminish this afternoon, and winds will gust to 20mph. Another weaker system could bring some showers back Monday afternoon and evening.
UPDATE/5PM SATURDAY: Biggest potential for severe weather tonight is in Arkansas, and places in Texas and Louisiana that touch borders with Arkansas. Some of that could hold together as it moves to the northeast. The “moderate” area of risk now extends all the way to Indianapolis. A couple of storms have fired in west central Indiana and are moving to the northeast. Most of the action in Indiana will be (again) overnight.
We’ve already seen nearly an inch of rain around Bloomington and the Haute from overnight showers and storms into early Saturday morning. ANOTHER 1-3 inches of rain is possible statewide through Monday morning. Steady rain will end from west to east across the state Saturday morning. A stray shower or storm is possible Saturday afternoon. Steady, heavy rain, and possibly severe storms, are all possible this evening and overnight into early Sunday morning. Showers will linger into at least Sunday morning.
